A Dataset of Bonds and Manrent and Maintenance, 1442-1603

This project will create an electronic dataset of over 800 private bonds from Scotland between 1442 and 1603. A paper based list of these bonds is currently available in the appendices to Jenny Wormald's book Lords and Men published in 1986. This project will employ a research assistant to create an electronic dataset of this material that will make it easier to use quantitatively.
