Abstract
There are several ways to read and interpret Scripture, and to connect it to the worship life of a community.
This chapter looks into the ways in which the ancient and Eastern Christian community has approached the Gospel: not so much as a text to be read, but mostly as a text to be received within a liturgical context.
Particular emphasis is given to the eschatological and anagogical approach of the East, and to the Patristic tradition.
