Abstract

The purpose of this developmental paper is to begin to conceptualise responsible management and leadership as a paradox through the lens of Organizational Ambidexterity. We introduce and outline our context followed by brief discussions of responsible management, responsible leadership and responsible management education. We then introduce and apply the paradox theory Organizational Ambidexterity with a view to presenting a different perspective on an area notorious for its difficulty in widespread implementation and shift of perceptions and behaviours. This conceptualisation is truly developmental at this stage and the authors will welcome discussion, debate and critique of this early work at the conference.
