Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development: Fostering Creativity and Critical Thinking in Education

Project Details

Description

Curricular and Collaborative endeavours: In 2018 I was invited to become part of a universitywide working group within UoW, engaging with a four-year project with the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) – Fostering Creativity and Critical Thinking in Education, the research intentions seeking to understand how creativity and critical thinking can be developed in HE generally, and with Teacher Education students specifically. I adapted and embedded the OECD rubric and associated materials into my level-4 Creativity. The emerging outcomes (to be published on the OECD website), inform global pedagogic methodologies. These methodologies now underpin my level-6 module, Creativity: Writing and Teaching, and both level-4 and level-6 students are additionally invited to enhance their own learning beyond the module, attending OECD webinars, conferences, and related discussions. This project continues and in September 2021, prior to teaching, we will meet to determine how best to embed OECD results into our existing programmes, and in my case within CW1109. This will them be implemented during this teaching year, which are the dates submitted here, although it will extend beyond this time.
