Abstract
The GDC commissioned this research to assess and evaluate the remediation services currently provided in the UK, in order to understand if the current supply and approach is likely to be adequate in supporting any potential future scheme of continuing assurance of fitness to practise (revalidation). The research questions for the evaluation to explore were: 1. What types of remediation support activities exist for all forms of dental practice? 2. Why do dentists and DCPs access such support? 3. How do dentists and DCPs access remediation? 4. What are the main costs associated with provision and participation in remediation support and who bears the costs? 5. How do remediation services positively contribute to supporting dental professionals to keep on track?
