Abstract
As an attempt to ameliorate the effects of globalisation on policing activities, international police agencies have been set up such as Europol and Interpol, though they currently have limited enforcement capacities and are essentially information and intelligence hubs. The main beneficiaries of globalisation are not geographically bounded state agencies but free-wheeling international corporations, who have been vaulted into new positions of unprecedented power and influence. Indeed capital and big business have embraced opportunities to expand globally and have already internationalised to such an extent that they can substantially evade the authority of national governments.
